BASALT FIBER
CHARACTERISTICS
Basalt fiber is one of the advanced construction materials produced by Basalt Uzbekistan. It is a chopped basalt fiber used for reinforcement of concrete and other building materials.
The main areas of basalt fiber use: – Reinforcement of concrete and other building materials; – Manufacturing of composite materials.
Basalt fiber is a chopped basalt fiber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 982°C. The material is obtained by melting basalt rocks in a furnace.
Basalt fiber is widely used for the following applications:
- Bridge and tunnel construction;
- Safe replacement for asbestos;
- Reinforcement of concrete and other building materials;
- Creation of foundations for buildings and structures;
- Manufacturing of blocks;
- Fire protection at oil refineries;
- Creation of parking lots and sidewalks.
Characteristics of basalt fiber:
- High strength and resistance to tearing;
- Resistance to temperature and moisture;
- Environmental safety;
- Lightness and ease of use;
- Resistance to corrosion and chemicals.
Basalt fiber is available in the following lengths:
- 3 mm;
- 6 mm;
- 13 mm;
- 15 mm;
- 18 mm;
- 25 mm;
- 27 mm;
- 50 mm;
Basalt fiber has the following properties:
- Resistance to ultraviolet radiation and biological contamination;
- Resistance to corrosion, acids and chemicals;
- High thermal and acoustic insulation properties;
- Durability;
- Heat resistance;
- Environmental friendliness.
