BASALT CHOPPED FIBER
CHARACTERISTICS
Basalt fibre is one of the cutting-edge construction and composite materials produced by “Basalt Uzbekistan”.
Chopped basalt fibre is used to strengthen concrete and other construction materials.
Characteristics of basalt fibre:
– High strength and resistance to tearing;
– Ability to withstand temperature impact and humidity;
– Environmental safety;
– Simple and convenient to use;
– Resistant to corrosion and chemicals.
The main fields of use of basalt fibre:
– Strengthening of concrete and other construction materials;
– Production of composite materials.
Basalt fibre consists of chopped fibres made from basalt that can endure temperatures as high as 982°C. This material is produced by melting basalt rocks in a furnace.
Basalt fibre is commonly used for these purposes:
- Building bridges and tunnels;
- A safe alternative to asbestos;
- Strengthening concrete and other construction materials;
- Creating foundations for buildings and structures;
- Production of blocks;
- Fire safety in oil refineries;
- Designing parking lots and walkways.
Basalt fibre is available in the following lengths:
- 3 mm;
- 6 mm;
- 13 mm;
- 15 mm;
- 18 mm;
- 25 mm;
- 27 mm;
- 50 mm.
Basalt fiber possesses these characteristics:
– Resistance to ultraviolet rays and biological contamination;
– Resistance to corrosion, acids, and chemicals;
– Excellent heat and sound insulation;
– High strength;
– Heat resistance;
– Eco-friendliness.
