Tashkent hosted the conference on basalt rebar.
Tashkent hosted the conference on basalt rebar. On August 9, Tashkent hosted the conference on the theme "Basalt rebar. Innovative materials. Savings in construction". The event was timed to coincide with the Constructor's Day, which was celebrated on August 12. The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, engineering company Qishloq Qurilish Invest, "Uzstroymaterialy" JSC, the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources, city and district khokimiyats, project departments and leading construction companies. The event was organized by Mega Invest Industrial JV, which put into operation plant Basalt for the production of basalt fiber and rebar in Djizak last December This is the first factory in Uzbekistan producing basalt rebar. The total area of the building, which employs more than 200 employees, is 10 thousand square meters. Production capacity allows producing 3 thousand tons of basalt fiber per year. Since February, the plant has produced 720 tons of the product. 80% of basalt fiber goes to the production of rebar and 20% goes to the production of other products for construction. The total investment in Basalt was about 54 million US dollars. The launch of Basalt plant has been preceded by a deep study of the market, study of basalt ore deposits, which is the raw material for the production of innovative rebar. In Djizak region, on the territory of which the factory has been built, there are two of the three mines in Uzbekistan with deposits of basalt ore. “It is this ore that is suitable for the production of high-quality basalt rebar by its parameters, which undoubtedly has innovative characteristics,” explained Ramir Akhmediev, Commercial Director of Mega Invest Industrial. Speaking at the conference, Ramir Akhmediev has noted that new products in the construction market always cause distrust, therefore, since the launch of Basalt plant, explanatory work has been carried out about the quality and innovative parameters of basalt rebar among specialists and potential customers. During the event, issues related to the use of alternative building materials, use of composite rebar (fiber-reinforced plastic rebar) for the construction of standard houses in rural areas were considered, the prospects for the development of the plant and the scope of application of innovative products of this enterprise were discussed. The following speakers spoke at the conference: expert of "Uzstroymaterialy" JSC Bakhodir Kenjaev, specialist of the Ministry of Construction and senior lecturer of Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering Jaloliddin Tokhirov, as well as leading specialist of the supply department of Qishloq Qurilish Invest Botir Ruziboev. Basalt rebar is used actively in modern construction and has special properties - it is four times lighter and three times stronger than steel fittings. It does not absorb moisture, does not corrode, does not conduct electricity and have low thermal conductivity. “Basalt is one of the most environmentally friendly materials of this kind. It is quite easy to install and it is affordable by cost. Basalt fiber is a completely natural material obtained by melting natural minerals: basalt, basanite, gabbrodiabase and their mixtures,” Bakhodir Kenzhaev, an expert at Uzstroymateriallari, said in his speech. There are 24.1 thousand operating enterprises in the construction industry of Uzbekistan today, of which 3.8 thousand have been created this year. In the first half of 2018, the construction industry provided the highest GDP growth in Uzbekistan among all analyzed types of economic activity - by 9.7%. The growth rate of investments in fixed assets amounted to 129.4%, of which 60.9% were construction and installation works. Most of the investments in fixed assets were directed to new construction - 10 trillion 657 billion soums, which amounted to 63.3% of the total investment.
The structure of composite rebar is not subject to corrosion and is resistant to alkaline environments of concrete solutions. The fibers resist salt and acid solutions. Technical characteristics maintain throughout the entire period of operation. Basalt-composite material is inert magnetically, not affected by magnetic field, does not change its inherent properties, is not an electrical conductor. The product made of basalt composite retains its original dimensions throughout the service life, does not change its properties under the influence of low temperatures. The material has low thermal conductivity, unlike steel fittings. If there is a basalt frame in the wall, then this factor only helps strengthen the entire structure. Heat does not leave the building, does not seep through the enclosing structures. When installing basalt rebar, there is no need in professional welder and welding machine, which consumes a huge amount of electricity. Due to the flexibility and strength of basalt fiber rebar, it can be rolled into a roll and transported on small vehicles, which will cut corners on truck rental.
